Worship Consulting

Whether you are interested in exploring a new service start or you are working to enhance your current worship experience, an outside perspective is often helpful. Stacy has worked with small, medium, and large sized churches with a variety of worship styles. Common issues that leave congregations divided such as issues with musicians, communication between pastoral and lay leadership, and practical questions such as “how do we deal with copyright issues?” are common questions Stacy has helped churches work through over the years. The questions continue to be asked over and over again, ranging from technical details to team building.

Communication is a key element when dealing with change; positive change requires intentional communication. Stacy can help your congregation embrace the tension produced when tradition and innovation converge; a tension that can create a beautiful expression of the gifts of the people of God in worship. Vocal Coaching

Though Stacy does not keep a year round private studio at this time, she does take students for short time periods to work on specific vocal issues or to prepare for special events. Stacy is a firm believer in music education as part of a lifelong process; no one ever “arrives” at a place in which growth is not possible. Stacy takes the belief seriously as she continues to study with her College voice professor on a weekly basis. If you or your group are interested in a vocal coaching class, contact Stacy at stacy@stacyhood.com.

Stacy's Bio

In 1995 Stacy graduated with a Music Education degree from Centenary College of Louisiana. Her major instrument of focus was horn with a secondary emphasis of piano and percussion. She was fortunate to study voice with Dr. Horace English while at Centenary and continues to study with him at present. Stacy chose to continue graduate studies in the Department of Education at Centenary and finished a Master's in Educational Administration in 1996.

Upon graduation, Stacy took the position of Director of Music at St. Joseph Catholic School in Shreveport. This position not only included teaching music, but coordinating with the religion staff and church music director to prepare and lead mass each week.

After two years at St. Joseph School, a full-time staff position, Director of Worship Related Ministries, grew out of the volunteer position she held at Grace Community and she continues to serve in this position today. She works with the Creative Ministry Team and more than 300 volunteers in music, technical arts (sound, video, multimedia), drama, altar ministry, dance, creative movement, and youth worship related ministries to weave worship together each week. In addition to her ministry area responsibilities, Stacy also serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team of Grace Community.

Over the years Stacy has served on the Louisiana Annual Conference Worship Committee, provided leadership in worship training settings with the General Board of Discipleship, the General Board of Global Ministries and The United Methodist Publishing House as well other Annual Conferences across the country and abroad. Stacy enjoys composing music for worship, video projects, and specific youth and children’s projects. She also writes liturgy and drama for worship and loves to edit video.

Stacy’s experience throughout her life has allowed her to participate in worship leadership and planning from a varied perspective; this perspective along with her wish for congregations to have vibrant and cohesive worship ministries enhances her ability to help local congregations move forward in ministry, together, with God guiding the way.
